Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about accommodation, check-in, parking and facilities at Danhostel Vejle. We make it easy for you – whether you are on holiday, a business trip, a camp school or a craftsman stay.

With our self-service solution, good parking conditions and quiet surroundings close to Vejle, Billund and Jelling, you will have a hassle-free stay from start to finish.

What defines a self-service hostel?

Self-service hostels are defined as accommodations where guests have limited interaction with staff upon arrival. When booking through an online platform, guests can make reservations and payments without direct staff involvement. Upon arrival, guests receive a welcome email or text message with their room number and door code. This concept offers increased flexibility and independence during their stay. Contact us today to learn more about our self-service facilities.

How does self-check-in work at Danhostel Vejle?

On the day of arrival, you will receive a welcome text message / email at approximately 12:30 with your room number, password and other practical information. If you have not received the message by 1:00 p.m., please contact us on tel. +45 75 82 51 88.

Please note: If you make your reservation on the day of arrival after 12:00, you will receive the welcome message shortly after your booking is completed.

You decide when you arrive after 4:00 PM. If you have booked early check-in, it is possible to arrive from 1:00 PM.

What are the guidelines for early check-in or late check-out?

Check-in: from 16:00 PM
Early check-in arrival from 1:00 PM can be purchased for 200 DKK.

Check-out: latest by 10:00 AM 

Late check-out until 12:00 can be purchased for 200 DKK per room

These services can be ordered online or by mail.

When do I pay for my booking??

Families/individual guests
If you book online on our own website, you pay immediately via DIBS.
If you book by phone or email, you will receive a confirmation with our terms and conditions and payment instructions.

Groups
Group stays are paid in 2 installments.

1st installment, equal to 25% of the amount ordered, is due 8 days after booking.
Payment of the first installment is also an acceptance of the booking conditions sent.

2st installment, corresponding to 75% of the amount ordered, is due 30 days before arrival.

What are the amenities in the rooms?

All rooms have a private bathroom.

We have 130 beds in 30 rooms. All rooms have their own entrance, bathroom and toilet.
The size of the rooms varies from 20 to 32 m2 depending on the number of beds in the rooms.

Room facilities:
The rooms are furnished with 2 single beds that can be joined to make a double bed, as well as bunk beds. Each room has a wardrobe, table with chairs and free Wi-Fi.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Bed linen and a towel are included in the room price. The bed linen is ready in the room, guests must make the bed themselves.

Bed linen must be returned to the linen drop off opposite reception upon departure.
Extra linen and towels can always be rented at reception.

How do we get in touch with the staff?

Can I bring my dog ​​to Danhostel Vejle?

Dogs are welcome with us in their own basket. However, we must always be contacted directly at vejle@danhostel.dk to make a reservation, as we only have a few rooms where we allow dogs.                                                                                                                    

The dog is allowed to be alone in the room if it does not disturb other guests. The dog is allowed in our courtyard and in our outdoor areas. In both places the dog must be on a leash.
The dog is not allowed in our dining room, guest kitchen or TV room.

It is expected that dogs brought to Danhostel Vejle Hostel are calm, used to many people, new places, are not noisy and that consideration is given to other guests who may not like dogs.

House rules

We are an accommodation reserved for families, individual guests, tourists, camp schools and groups.

We reserve the right to refuse the guest at any time and may require photo identification and a deposit upon arrival. 

Quietness and consideration for the other guests of the house are important and we encourage quiet in the rooms between 22:00 PM and 08:00 AM.

How does parking work?

Parking is free with us.

We have a large parking lot, so you will never experience problems with parking with us.

We have 2 Clever charging stations that can be used. The car must be moved once it is charged.

Do you have charging facilities for electric cars?

Yes, we have 2 Clever charging stations for electric cars available in our parking lot

Is Danhostel Vejle a Hotel?

Although many of our guests refer to us as a cheap hotel in Vejle, we are actually a hostel. But don't be fooled by the name - our facilities and service are almost like those of a hotel. With modernly furnished rooms that include a TV, private bathroom and toilet, and access to our guest kitchen, you will get a comfortable and affordable night's sleep. And yes, bed linen is included in the price! Experience the best of both worlds at Danhostel Vejle.

Food & catering

Is breakfast served at Danhostel Vejle?

Yes, we offer breakfast until October 6, 2025. Then on selected days.

Breakfast must generally be pre-ordered when booking or via the purchase link found in the confirmation of your stay. Breakfast is generally served from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Changes may occur depending on the house's activities.

How do I order breakfast?

Is it possible to purchase a packed lunch?

It is possible to purchase a make-your-own lunch box from our breakfast table.
When you choose a packed lunch from our breakfast table, you are well prepared for the day's excursions or the journey home.

Can I use the guest kitchen?

Families are welcome to use our guest kitchen, which is equipped with refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, coffee makers, kettles, crockery and various kitchen utensils.

There is also a barbecue area in our cozy courtyard. You must bring your own charcoal and fire starters. Meals can be enjoyed in the guest kitchen's dining area or the attached outdoor table/bench set.

Cancellation

How do payment and cancellations work for bookings via third-party portals?

For bookings via third-party portals, please contact the relevant booking site for payment information and cancellation policy.

Is it possible to change or cancel “Non Ref/Last Minute/Low budget” bookings?

Bookings made as “Non Ref/Last Minute/Low budget” cannot be changed or refunded.

Room info

How does it work if I forgot something in the room?

Forgotten items can be reported by contacting us at vejle@danhostel.dk with information about the room and period of stay. We will investigate and guide you through the further process.

What is your policy regarding noise and quiet in the rooms?

To maintain peace and consideration for other guests, we encourage low noise levels in the rooms between 22:00 PM and 08:00 AM.

Is it possible to rent rooms for events?

Yes, groups can, for example, rent rooms with their own kitchen.

You can also book the entire place if you are holding a large event.

Is there a bathtub at Danhostel Vejle?

No, there is no bathtub, but all our rooms have their own shower and toilet.

Can I request specific room amenities, such as an accessible room?

Yes, we have a few accessible rooms with ramps. Please contact us at vejle@danhostel.dk to request such facilities.

Attractions and transportation

Can I take the bus to and from Legoland or Billund Airport?

Yes, you can.  

From Legoland/Airport:

Take bus no. 143, get off at Skibet church. The bus ride takes about 35 minutes.

Yes, you can.

From the train station:
Take line 2 (towards Skibet). Get off at Danhostel Vejle.

Can groups cook their own food at Danhostel Vejle?

Groups can rent a room with a kitchen where they can bring and prepare their own food.

Will I have to share the room with other guests?

At Danhostel Vejle you only share a room with those you have booked with.

How far is it from Danhostel Vejle to Vejle city center?

It is 6 km to Vejle city center.

Are there shopping opportunities nearby?

Yes, about 1 km away there is a Rema 1000 which is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
